There's nothing wrong with going back to the basics, black on denim is definitely one of my favorite go-to outfits. I say go for what makes you happy, simple is sleek!
Going too overboard and not being comfortable about it, will definitely not make you happy. If it's going back to the basics that satisfies you and makes you comfortable, wear it with confidence and watch how many people turn heads over you.
